Red Dead Redemption 2 — Relaxing Wilderness Campfire
Woody Jackson scored Red Dead Redemption 2 in 2018 with a small recurring set of instruments — slide guitar, banjo, a lot of low strings — recorded so that you can hear the room they were played in. Ambient Worlds captured four campfire scenes for this, which is the right instinct: the campfire is where Rockstar put most of its incidental music, and where the game behaves least like a game.
Three hours of fire, insects and the occasional distant animal, with the score surfacing and receding underneath. RDR2 was clearly built by people who cared more about weather and horse behaviour than about mission design, and this is the part of that obsession you can put to use. The Sepia filter is the obvious pairing — it pushes the footage most of the way to a tintype and the game barely resists.
