Cyberpunk 2077 — Night City Ambient Chill
CD Projekt Red shipped Cyberpunk 2077 on 10 December 2020 into one of the loudest launch disasters the industry has had, and this mix went up three days later — while everyone else argued about bugs, someone was quietly pulling the ambient cues out of the soundtrack. The score is credited to Marcin Przybyłowicz, P.T. Adamczyk and Paul Leonard-Morgan, and its quiet register sits a long way from the in-game radio stations: slow synth pads, sub bass, the hum of a city block.
The loud half of that soundtrack is what everyone remembers — the Samurai tracks, the chase music — so an hour of the ambient layer alone plays as a genuinely different album. It works under focus because Night City is written as a place with weather: rain in the mix, traffic at a distance, long passages where nothing resolves. The Cyberpunk filter was sitting in the preset list waiting for exactly this.
