The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt - Peaceful Night in Toussaint

Gaming1 track

The Witcher 3: Blood and Wine released in 2016 as the final expansion for CD Projekt Red's third Witcher game, set in the duchy of Toussaint, a fairytale region modeled on southern France and the Italian Riviera. The expansion's score by Marcin Przybyłowicz and Mikolai Stroinski leaves behind the brooding Slavic folk of the base game for sun-drenched pastoral orchestral writing. This particular video is a slow night flight over Beauclair, the duchy's capital.

The Toussaint music is a real outlier in the Witcher catalog. Most fans came to the games for the dark Slavic folk and stayed for it, but Blood and Wine deliberately broke the formula and produced one of the prettiest fantasy zones ever made. Specifically good for relaxation that isn't dark or melancholic.
